Location: 100 East Candlewyck Drive, Kalamazoo, MI 49001.

At Candlewyck Apartments, we take pride in maintaining a clean and welcoming environment for our residents. We’re currently seeking a dedicated Groundskeeper to join our team. This role is crucial in keeping the grounds clean, inviting, and well-maintained throughout the seasons. The Groundskeeper will also provide support to the property staff as needed to ensure efficient operations.

Duties & Responsibilities:
The Groundskeeper will adhere to company policies and all applicable federal, state, and local laws, including Fair Housing regulations. Core responsibilities include:

Maintaining lawns, gardens, and landscaped areas year-round.
Mowing grass, trimming shrubs, and selecting appropriate plants for walkways or garden spaces.
Raking leaves and caring for flowers, trees, and plants.
Performing weed control and removing harmful vegetation (e.g., poison oak, poison ivy).
Applying mulch, fertilizers, and pesticides as necessary.
Collecting and disposing of trash and debris from common areas.
Sweeping sidewalks, steps, and shared spaces.
Handling light snow removal and salting walkways as needed.
Coordinating larger-scale snow or dirt removal when necessary.
Assisting the maintenance team with additional duties as assigned.
Reporting supply needs to management.

Qualifications:

Ability to perform physical tasks and follow directions efficiently.
Required to wear protective gear (gloves, goggles, appropriate clothing) based on tasks.
Familiarity with landscaping tools and equipment (e.g., mowers, trimmers, blowers, rakes, shovels, snow removal tools).
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Prior outdoor maintenance experience preferred.

Compensation:

Job Type: Full-time, On-Site.
Monday-Friday (9AM-6PM).
Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour (Dependent on experience).
